If an athlete does not have a proper nutritional intake, an athlete cannot sustain a high level of training.  Proper nutritional intake for an athlete allow for longer and more challenging training sessions, delay fatigue, speed the recovery process, prevent injury, and maintain optimal body weight and lean muscle mass.  Proper fluid intake is also extremely important to athlete development and performance.  Essential fluids must be replaced to achieve optimal athletic performance.
